TRIP STANDARDS GUIDE
TOURING TRIP (GREEN)
Mainly touring type trip using well formed tracks or roads. May require occasional use of high range four wheel drive. No recovery likely.
Vehicle:	Suitable for a standard unmodified four wheel drive or all wheel drive vehicle.
Driver:	Suitable for novice and beginner four wheel drivers.
Recommended:	UHF CB radio
EASY TRIP (BLUE)
Easy 4WD trip mainly high range but low range may be required. Recovery situations unlikely.
Driver:	Suitable for novice and beginner four wheel drivers.
Vehicle:	Suitable for a standard unmodified four wheel drive (4WD).
Mandatory:	Low range, Rated recovery points front and rear, Snatch strap and rated 'D' Shackles.
Recommended:	UHF CB radio
MEDIUM TRIP (BLACK)
More challenging trip with some low range required. Recovery situations are possible.
Driver:	Suitable for more experienced drivers who have successfully completed a driver awareness course, have formal 4WD qualifications or have equivalent similar experience.
Vehicle:	Suitable for four wheel drive (4WD) vehicles with good ground clearance.
Mandatory:	Low range, more aggressive all terrain tyres, UHF CB radio, rated recovery points front and rear, Snatch strap and rated 'D' Shackles.
Recommended	Raised suspension
HARD TRIP (RED)
Challenging trip with recovery situations likely.
Driver:	Suitable for very experienced drivers who have successfully completed a driver awareness course, have formal 4WD qualifications or have equivalent similar experience.
Vehicle:	Suitable for modified four wheel drive (4WD) vehicles with good ground clearance and wheel travel.
Mandatory:	Low range, larger more aggressive All terrain tyres in good condition, UHF CB radio, raised suspension with improved wheel travel, rated recovery points front and rear, Snatch strap and rated 'D' Shackles.
Recommended:	Larger 'Mud terrain' tyres, front and/or rear diff locks, A full recovery kit including winch.
